About Citizens for Financial Justice: 

Citizens for Financial Justice is project consisting of a diverse group of European partners – from local grassroots groups to large international organisations. Together, we aim to inform and connect citizens to act together to make the global financial system work better for everyone. 

We are funded by the European Union’s Development Education and Awareness Raising mechanism, and aim to support the implementation of the Sustainable development Goals (sDGs) by mobilising EU citizens to support effective financing for development and the development of a just financial system. Background: 

Development Education/Global Citizenship Education (GCE) is an educational process an educational process which enables people to understand the world around them and to act to transform it. It works to tackle the root causes of injustice and inequality, globally and locally to create a more just and sustainable future for everyone.

Many partners on the Citizens for Financial Justice project engage in GCE work with an explicit focus on financial justice. We wish to commission a resource that will be used to support actors producing GCE for Financial Justice in delivering this work online. 

The role of the consultant will involve: 

• Carrying out an extensive survey of existing resources, methodologies and tools available for conducting participative remote/online learning
• Creating a bibliography of available tools and resources 
• Proposing a number of methodologies that can be carried out in different online contexts, including adapting existing methodologies. 
• Reflect on different educational contexts: specifically, adult learning in informal settings, and more formal engagement through third and second level. 

The final output will be a 10-page document which will be turned into a PDF which can be accessed online summarising a range of different opportunities and methodologies to conduct 

Note: Many CFJ partners already have an extensive number of learning resources that could be adapted and the consultant will be provided with links to existing resources and existing online tools that have been trialled. 

The consultancy will be managed by CFJ partners Financial Justice Ireland and Christian Aid. 

Planned timeframe: 

It is anticipated this work will take approximately ten days, with recruitment taking place early September and the work being completed in early October.
