JDC Petition: Cancel the Philippines Debt

Following the devastation caused by Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) Jubilee Debt Campaign has developed a petition with Freedom from Debt Coalition and Jubilee South (Asia Pacific Movement on Debt and Development) calling for the Philippines debt to be cancelled. The text of the petition is below. It is addressed to international lenders, inlcuding the World Bank and Asian Development Bank, governments, and private lenders.

 

Philippines government external debt payments are $8 billion every year, more than 20% of government revenue.
