Grassroots to Government - Senior Cycle politics and society resource workshop
12 March 2024
Join Hilary from Financial Justice Ireland online 4.30-6pm on Wednesday April 10th for a fun and participatory workshop of our Leaving Certificate Politics and Society resource, 'Grassroots to Government'.
Our resource supports Leaving Certificate Politics and Society teachers to explore themes of globalisation and sustainable development in the classroom. This training will provide an overview of FJI's teaching resource, including showing teachers how it can be used to create an entire module, or sections can be taken and incorporated into existing teaching plans. The focus of the resource is 'Strand 4' of the curriculum: Globalisation and Localisation, with links to each of the other three strands.
In delivering this teaching resource, we aim to:
- Examine the positive and negative aspects of globalisation;
- Analyse the global financial system and power of the supranational bodies; and
- Support students to bring about change through their citizenship projects.
This online workshop is completely free to attend. We will ensure opportunities for discussion and peer learning amongst teachers in the spirit of mutual continued professional development for all participants. It’s a great opportunity to generate additional CPD points before the end of the academic term. We also supply attendees with formal certificates of attendance that can be used to fulfil their Croke Park hours.
See you there!
